Dawn S. V. Hinton-Mckee was born August 2nd,

1975 in Columbus, OH to Lejeune Hinton and Larry Brown. Dawn was called to eternal peace on June 24th, 2024, in her hometown at the age of 48. She was a beloved wife to Anthony Mckee Sr, and mother to LaQuisha (Dashauna), Anthony Jr, Anastasia, Anthony III, and Lamia.

In Dawns early years, she attended Columbus East High School where she had many friends. She met the love of her life at the young age of 13 years old and enjoyed life with him until her last breath. Throughout the years, Dawn learned many skills and overcame every obstacle thrown her way.

To know Dawn was to know laughter, to know true strength and genuine love. She was well known in the city for her fierce personality and loving nature.

A true lover of nature, Dawn’s most beloved hobby was tending to her plants and pouring love into not only her plants but anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Even if her cup was empty, she still managed to fill everyone else around her.

Our angel on earth, Dawn adored all 5 of her children, who she dedicated her life too, loving each in their own special way that was unconditional. When it came to those grandbabies, they stole her heart. In 2016, she adopted the name “Granny” with her first grandchild Karter then she was blessed with Kali, Taliyah, Anthony Messiah, Kamari, K’Noiah and another grandson blooming. Bonus grandchildren Ky’Lee and Khloe.

Dawn is preceded in death by her mother Lejeune Hinton and brothers Albert Crawford and Darcy Jones Jr “Boo Bear”.  Her maternal grandmother Harriette D. Caldwell and paternal grandmother Christine Brown.

Sister to many, Dawn is succeeded in death by maternal brothers and sisters Lavelle Crawford, Rashawn Hinton, Shannon Hinton, Chelsea Hinton and Ryan Fox. Paternal sisters and brothers Twyla (Rusty) Barlow, Christine (Kenyadi) Green, Larry Brown Jr, Ronesha Brown, Jeremiah Brown, and Raylin Brown; stepsister Danielle (Craig) Whitehead. Also, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.

Guests are welcome to a celebration of life at Miss. Vikki’s Banquet at 2167 E Livingston Ave at 3:30pm – 11pm.
