Wendell F. Bush, 54, of Columbus, Ohio was called home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2024 surrounded by his wife and close family as he transitioned.

Wendell was born February 28, 1970 to Willie Williams and Essie Bush.

He attended West High School in Columbus, Ohio. He went into the workforce immediately following high school. Wendell worked as a welder for over 30 years. He absolutely loved his career and was exceptional at his work. Wendell loved his work family so very much. Talking about his work buddies and work experiences was his favorite topic to talk about when he would return home.

In 1997, Wendell married his high school sweetheart, Bridget Good whom he met in the cafeteria of West High School. Wendell and Bridget kept their marriage vows for 27 beautiful years. From their union, they had two lovely daughters Houston (26) and Donna Brazil (20).

He was a very faithful, God-fearing man. Wendell was a member of the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith (CCAF) where he was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at age 25. He was also an usher for CCAF. Wendell practiced being more like God on a daily basis and walked by faith during everything in his life.

Wendell loved spending time with his family and friends, praying, cooking, dancing, and taking drives with his family while listening to music. He would go by “Dell”, “Bugs”, “Babe”, and several other nicknames. Wendell was also a very talented artist. He loved to draw, paint, read, and write. Wendell loved making time to take his daughters on dates and traveling with his family.

Wendell is preceded in death by his son Diore Bush and his mother Essie Bush.

Wendell is survived by his wife Bridget Bush; daughters Daijah Bush, Houston Bush, and Donna Brazil Bush; father Willie Williams; brother Willis (Nancy) Bush; sister Wynetta Bush; father in-law Hugh Brian Good Sr.; mother-in-law Donna Good, brother-in-laws Hugh Brian Good Jr., Ty (LemLem) Good, Timothy (Brandy) Good and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & many friends. Special thanks to Erica Mercado, David Howell, Derrick Heard, and Derrick Cox (DC).

Anyone that knew Wendell knew that he was the most loving, loyal, gentle, hardworking, and genuine person you’d ever meet. He served his purpose and touched the lives of so many people. Wendell’s laugh was contagious and would make an entire room laugh. We will continue to remember that laugh, cherish our memories, and carry them with us forever. He will be very greatly missed by all his family and friends.
