William S. Pressie, Jr., born on June 6, 1938, passed away peacefully in his Gahanna home on October 11, 2020.
A U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam Era, Deacon Pressie also worked at the Ohio Malleable serving as Financial Secretary and longtime Union Steward. He then changed careers and retired from COTA after 30 years of service. Deacon Pressie was a founding member and deacon at Zion Christian Assembly and a former member at Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith where he taught Sunday School.
Deacon Pressie is preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Elizabeth Pressie and sister, Beverly Williams. Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 51 years, Barbara, sons Cecil, Jacques and Eric, daughter-in-law, Pamela, grandchildren Taryn, Cecil (CJ), William (Gabriel), and Xavier. Great-grandchildren, Breyanna, Amya, Khia and sister-in-law Daisy Crockron. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Deacon Pressie was a true man of God, devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family above all. He was an avid sports fan and an enthusiastic supporter of the Boston Celtics. His boisterous personality, generous heart and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
