William Rhea Obituary

William Ted Rhea born in Columbus, Ohio, was the son of William Theodore and Retta P. Rhea. Affectionately knows as Teddy or “Sir Ted”, he is remembered as a great guy, godly man, loving son, father, uncle, brother, and friend. He was a very charismatic, special person with a big personality, and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved people and always made others feel important. He is loved and will be greatly missed.

Teddy grew up in New Salem Baptist Church and was a member of the security ministry. Teddy loved riding his motorcycle and was an active part of New Salem’s Biker Ministry. When he wasn’t riding you would find him out fishing with his elaborate fishing pole collection.

Teddy attended Cassidy and Innis Elementary School, Mifflin Middle School and he graduated from Mifflin High School in 1984. He attended West Liberty College and Ohio State University. Teddy was a high school football and basketball player and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed college basketball and loved watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes football team.

Teddy worked for 24 years at American Showa Corporation in Sunbury, Ohio and traveled to Tokyo, Japan in 1995 for advanced job/management training. Teddy was a fighter in regard to his illness and never let it stop hm from doing the things he loved and helping other people. After a long battle with kidney failure, diabetes and heart disease God called him home.

On February 19, 2020 at the age of 54, Teddy entered into Eternal Rest.

Those who remain to keep Teddy’s memory alive include his parents, daughters Blake and Amber; grandchildren, Jabez, Jen-Mira, and Louis (LJ); sister Marta (Carleton); nephews Elijah and Jeremiah; godbrothers Chris and Brian; ex-wife Mary and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
