William "Bill" Matthew Welch, Jr was born December 16, 1958 to the blessed union of William, Sr. (Mac) and Norma (Mowery) Welch. He was the oldest of three children, one brother , Kevin Welch (deceased) and is survived by a beloved sister, Linda K. Welch.
Bill graduated South High School Class of '76. He received a full scholarship to Ball State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He had an Associate's Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Business.
Bill's first union, to Angela Harper blessed him with his treasured daughter, Rashelle Nicole (Nikki), who blessed him with 4 handsome grandsons, Gabriel, Noah, Isaiah, and Ezekiel aged 2 months to 8 years old.
Bill was a plumber, pipefitter, welder, and educator. Member of Local 189 since 1982. Building Trade Association 3rd year Refrigeration Co-instructor and taught computer classes to Local 189 journeymen. Respected by those he worked beside, loved by those even closer he also assisted 1st year instructors during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Bill met and in 2017 married Natina Jones nurturing her children as his own. He loved her daughters, Camille McDuff-Jones and Ashley Hickman, treating Ashley's sons as his grandsons. Bill had a special place in his heart for children and helped raise Malcolm Ingram, Eric Alexander, and Grace Alexander. He mentored Edward Davis and Antonio Terry. He was an assistant coach for Licking Heights Jr. Gold and Sr. Maroon football.
Bill was a member of and usher at Kingdom Faith International Christian Center. Bill had many beloved cousins in Ohio, Wa, and Va. He loved his "toys" and traveling to Va and NC.
