William Rudolph Lash Jr. was born on June 27, 1927 in Roanoke, Virginia.  William Lash departed this life on August 22, 2025.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Davis Lash and William R. Lash Sr. William Lash Jr. was educated in the Washington D.C. school district prior to relocating to Columbus, Ohio. Once in Columbus, William Lash not only married and established a family but he also enjoyed a long and successful career as a ticket salesman with the Railroad, and later as an electrical operator for Lucent Technology, where he retired following twenty-six years of dedicated service.  William R. Lash was the proud and devoted father of five children and twelve grandchildren, Fourteen great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.  Throughout the years, he served as a coach for his son's and grandson's sports teams specifically, football, basketball and baseball.  

William Lash's interest in sports also extended to the community. He not only served as a mentor to many aspiring athletes in the Columbus youth sports community but he also actively recruited talented players for the Capital City Jaguar Youth Football League. In addition, he served as a coach for the Mifflin Sharks Association, and other Youth League Associations in the community.

As a youth sports advocate, William Lash lobbied and successfully secured financial support for various youth football programs. His devotion and perseverance to the Captial City Jaguar association awarded him an Honorary Board member, and a Life-time Outstanding Achievement award.  He was an avid jazz enthusiast, and his fondest memories were the privilege of meeting professional jazz musicians who he admired..  Finally, William R. Lash embraced a lifelong passion for professional boxing. He closely followed the careers of a myriad of professional boxers and he enjoyed attending matches throughout his life.   William Lash was a dedicated member of the Intercontinental Church of God. He maintained an active presence in the church for decades.   

William Rudolph Lash Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Brenda "Candie" Tucker (Daryl) daughter-in-law, Kendall D. Lash,  son-in-law, Robert Bradley cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of relatives and family friends.   William R. Lash Jr. leaves a legacy of love and devotion for his family, Church, community service and youth sports.  His memory will forever be cherished by future generations of his family.
